Seals Den Overview
Students Engaged in Authentic Life Skills
Doing Everything Naturally
The Seals Den is a life skills program, for transition aged students (14-22), that was brought to life in 2006 by a group of forward thinking administrators and educators that were passionate about providing effective transition services to students in Selinsgrove Area School District (SASD). Located in downtown Selinsgrove, the Seals Den is an accessible home that SASD rents to provide an authentic home setting for students to learn and practice activities of daily living. Instruction in the Seals Den program focuses on functional academic, daily living, vocational, personal, and social skills. Students in the Seals Den program participate in job experiences within the community and school district, classroom instruction, community based instruction, and runs the Seals Cafe at Selinsgrove High School with the high school life skills class.
