Our School

My name is Mr. John Bohle, and I served as the Assistant Principal from 2002-2007. I’ve had the privilege of serving as the principal from 2008 to present. Selinsgrove Area Middle School houses all the district’s Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Grade students.

I enjoy mountain biking on the local trails, from the trails around Jim Thorpe (American Standard Trail named for the urinal hanging along the trail) to the Rothrock Forest trails around State College. Most recently, I drove cross country to Oregon stopping at Glacier National Park MT, Mt Bachelor OR, Jackson Hole WY and Monument Park CO.  One of my greatest accomplishments was to ride and finish the “Wilderness 101,” 100 mile mountain bike race. I’ve ridden the trails in the George Washington Forest in Virginia and up to the Loyalsock Forest trails in northern PA. It isn’t a shock to the staff or students to see me black and blue after a ride due to a fall or wipe-out.l

My other passion is basketball. I play basketball at least twice a week at the local YMCA in Sunbury. I also play in a league at the YMCA during the winter, where again it’s not a shock for the staff and students to see me with a black eye.
