Meet the Teacher

Hello! My name is Ashley Whary and I am the Seals Den teacher and SASD Transition Coordinator. I previously taught for four years in the SAHS Life Skills Classroom. I received my bachelors’ degree at Elizabethtown College in 2009 and my master’s degree from Concordia University in 2013.

As the Seals Den teacher and Transition Coordinator it is my goal to help students meet their full potential whether it be post-secondary education, employment, or independent living. I work closely with students, families, teachers, and local agencies to coordinate transition activities that will help students move closer to their transition goals. I also work with Jennifer Scruggs to co-advise Interact. Interact is a high school club derived from the Rotary Club. The Interact club works closely with the Life Skills and Seals Den programs to coordinate activities and fundraisers. They also coordinate an international project each year.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family. I love to bake and make cakes and cupcakes for close friends and family for special occasions. I also like to scrapbook and garden.
