Dr. Ashley Whary
I began my teaching career in the fall of 2009 after earning my B.S. in Elementary Education and Special Education from Elizabethtown College. I have had the pleasure of being employed at Selinsgrove Area School District for 15 years. During my time at Selinsgrove Area High School I have worked with transition aged students (14-21). During the 2014-2015 school year I transitioned from teaching high school life skills to the Seals Den program. Prior Selinsgrove Administrators and educators developed a vision for a transition aged life skills program that provides authentic life skills instruction in the Selinsgrove community
My passion is to provide students with authentic learning experiences through life skills instruction in the district run house, volunteer work, community based training and trips, and student led business opportunities (Seals Cafe). Through a combination of functional, community based, vocational, daily living, and social skills instruction I work to help students develop life skills for their future.
